Great Contacts and Insight- Essential for a Successful Board Executive
There is no doubt that successful Board Executives have a strong and current contact network that underpins their success.
These are people that they trust to assist or deliver in a variety of business scenarios from expert advice, fund raising and M&A through to Interim help, Board roles, relevant contacts or just to offer a strong insight about certain areas of business, that can only be built up over time.

Often it can be the difference between success and failure on a deal or project.
But how do you maintain your optimum and up-to-date business network?
Many business networking events are often disappointing experiences, where you maybe in a room full of people, but whom amongst them is of relevance to you and how do you find and connect with the ones that are?
How do you constantly refresh your contact base with the confidence that you are going to meet like-minded senior executives that you can get to know over time? It’s a time- consuming task but more so if you’re not even meeting the right kind of people.
At The Chairman’s Network we have perfected a formula that works for Members with a continuous series of smaller events -Coffee Meetings and Round Tables- that are different from the normal networking experience.
Members register on the platform for any event that works for them based on their location, schedule and/or the subject of the event. This keeps each event fresh with a different blend of delegates - a maximum of 10 for Coffee Meetings and 20 for Round Tables and a mix of Members and a few Guests at most events.
All events commence with your Elevator Pitch- who you are and what you do in a few sentences. This gives other delegates the opportunity to follow up with you if there is a connection that resonates. Some events are open discussions around a subject brought by the delegate and/or Group Host or Partner. Round Tables and other events are subject specific. There are certainly three degrees of connection.
Each event is focused on the spirit of collaboration i.e. how we can assist others with help, expertise, contacts etc., rather than pure self- interest.
This is proving a powerful element of The Chairman’s Network as we can see opportunities arising and deals being done through new Chairman's Network connections.
But a people network cannot offer a specific outcome. It’s what you make of it and how much you engage, connect and follow up.
